I'm fairly certain that with Warpaint I'm not exactly breaking new ground, what with them supporting hipster allstars The xx in the US this autumn, or fall. I do have to consider my American fans, since I am rather big over there. Nearly 8 of weekly 20 hits come from the US.
But, anyway they have been around for a while, but I felt compelled to give them a shout out because after having looked at a few Last.fm profiles from some of the more knowledgeable taste makers in el blogosphere, they were conspicuous in their abscence. Of course, they may have already been over to their MySpace, had a listen and thought, 'This is shit.'
They would of course be wrong. With their very own brand of psychedlic, fuzzy and at times low key rock they are indeed very good. Anyways, album will be out on October 25 on Rough Trade records. Another reason why they must be good.
Ooh check out the makeover present here! You've been a bit busy I see...
ReplyDeleteI wanted to see Warpaint at the Great Escape as they were on after Best Coast, but my missus was adamant on seeing Darwin Deez (who we didn't actually get in to see). T'was what some might call a "fail"
